The Psychology Department consists of:
Mrs Woods-Brown – Teacher of Psychology, RMPS and English
In the Psychology department we believe in enabling learners to use appropriate psychological concepts, theories, research methods and evidence to investigate and analyse internal and external influences on human behaviour in a range of different contexts.
In the Psychology Department, we teach Higher Psychology in the senior phase.
The subject of psychology is explored through the following areas of study:
Individual behaviour – memory, sleep and dreaming
Social behaviour – conformity, obedience and aggression in society
Research –pupils will learn about the research process and be required to carry out small-scale research on a psychological topic of choice and compile a report on that research.
Psychology is a lively and current subject and we would recommend keeping up to date with current affairs and news stories which highlight atypical behaviour in society.
