Arcade Club update
Since the start of term, great progress has been made on the development of an Arcade Machine by the Arcade Club. Mrs Brown and Pupils from the DMG department who have been involved have created and finalised the design of the box and outer shell of the machine and have begun cutting parts of the outer case. A trial panel made out of Perspex to test the fitting and layout of the joystick and buttons for the arcade machine has been created.
Meanwhile in the Computing Department, Mr Hawthorn, our IT / AV Technician and S4 pupils on Work Experience with the Technicians, have been working hard to wire up the arcade machine controls and creating a test setup so the controls and joystick could be tested. They have also created a default controller file that when the games are starting up, will allow each game to recognise the default controls, which will be the same for each game. The next step is to create a menu and user interface to allow the users to choose which game they want to play.
We hope to have the Arcade Machine completed within the next few weeks
The Arcade Club meets on Wednesday Lunchtimes in DMG 2 for the design and creation of the outer casing of the machine and Room 209 for creation of games to go on to the arcade machine. See Mr Currie, Mrs Brown, Mrs Woods or Mr Hawthorn for more information.
