Hour of Code

Hour of Code

From 7th – 13th December, millions of pupils from all over the world are taking part in the Hour of Code event.   The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computing science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics.    Computing Science helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, pupils will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path.

During this week, our S1 and S2 Pupils have been taking part in the event during their Computing Science classes.   Pupils have been coding using Javascript to program some basic Star Wars, Frozen and Minecraft themed games.   Once they have completed their games, the pupils receive a printed certificate to take home with them and hopefully they have been inspired to continue with Computing in S3 and beyond.
