S4 Modern Studies Parliament Trip
The S4 Modern Studies class took a trip to the Scottish Parliament on 26th November. They took part in an educational session, where students had a chance to show off their knowledge of politics in Scotland. They then met local MSP Neil Findlay for the Lothians region. Students got a chance to ask Neil challenging questions on the work he does in the Scottish Parliament and his views on many topical issues such as the refugee crisis. Neil Findlay was very impressed with the students level of engagement with current affairs. To end the visit, students got a chance to sit in the Debating Chamber and watch the MSPs at work. They watched John Swinney the Cabinet Secretary for Finance make his financial statement to the Parliament. Overall it was a fun and informative trip, where students got to see Modern Studies in action.
